The patas monkey is a long-legged monkey of open country and the fastest-running of the primates. Driberg listed the “red patas monkey” among the animals of Lango, and its Lango name, ayom, is also the name of a clan: the Jo Ayom treat it as one of their own and mourn when one dies.
Habitat
Open grassland and savannah.
